Since when did Spirits deal physical damage?

Oh, and if you do just want direct damage instead of relying on minions/hexes/utility to be powerful, you could just make a build that spams necrosis and discord, with the right setup you'd get like 80-100 DPS which is basically a good spirit spammers damage without painful bond, but you have the advantage of actually choosing your target and could probably work in good utility skills.

Well, you're never going to escape the minion/hex/utility thing. That's what Necromancers are. To be sure, Necrosis is a great skill, but I always find myself with better things to run. Discord however, is crap. Seriously, it's pretty bad.

Your numbers are off as well, you're never going to see 80-100 DPS, you're going to end up somewhere between 40 and 60. You'd have to ask Chthon to crunch the numbers, because he's done it before. You have to factor in casting time, as well as the .75 second aftercast delay, and what seemed so impressive on paper turns out to be mediocre.

Of course, as Necrosis only takes up a single skill slot, you're going to have no choice but to pack in all that utility you wanted to escape. Such is life as a Necromancer I suppose.

Mindbender = 1 discord/necrosis every 1.25 seconds.

16 DM
Discord, Necrosis, Life Siphon, Barbed Signet, Mindbender, Glyph of Swiftness (for mindbender), Optional PvE, Optional Other.

82 DPS while spamming discord/necrosis, + 10-12 dps if you count the degen, By Ural's Hammer in the optional PvE will temporarily increase it to 103 DPS.

Not saying it should be a new meta, but not as ridiculous as one might assume.

yes and another downside to spamming is you can really only have one in a group.

but soul twisting helped a bit.

Not entirely sure but from the builds i seen pass by sofar there are 4 Rt builds that can be combined to form a nice 4 person team.

2x Spirit builds (divide up spirits)
1x Prot Spirit build
1x Resto build

Possibly even add a communing build doing lightning damage to that too... for 5Rts

About AoE Necro damage ... personally i prefer to run MoP/SS on one target and use either the Ebon Sin Support or a Pet to trigger MoP (or both) ... and just watch the numbers fly xD ... for MoP you do need fast triggers though, as like other AoE skills it does scatter the foes if they dont die soon enough :/
